He acknowledged questions will be asked about his position if the party’s poll lead is not transformed into results. The Reform leader said the allegations he has faced of racism during his schooldays at the elite Dulwich College were not having an impact and were “maybe solidifying our core support”. The party’s election war chest has been bolstered by a £9 million donation in August from businessman Christopher Harborne. Mr Farage plans to spend around £5 million of that over the next four months, on direct mail to voters and social media campaigns, The Times reported. The Reform leader said: “It’s double or quits.

Glasgow has been used more often for Hollywood movies due to its architecture and the way it can be made to look like New York City. There are also tax breaks for productions that film makers can make the most of in the UK, which adds to Glasgow's appeal. Glasgow City Council can sometimes also offer funding to productions which adds to the attractiveness of the city. In 2025 some big productions took place in the city, from action films like Spiderman, to Thrillers such as Ghost writer and Fear. With that there were a lot of celebrity sightings and people coming into town to watch the movies getting made.

Feelings of fear and ineptitude have been my almost constant companions as I was thrown into challenging situations. The prostate was hard, lumpy and asymmetrical, and even I could immediately tell this was cancer and treatment should be expedited. I have not quite come to terms with calling myself a doctor because it sounds somewhat fraudulent. But I also occasionally admit to myself that I am pretty thrilled about being a junior doctor at 51. I am blown away at the momentary connections I get to share with people in the most extraordinary moments of life.

Even where there’s “no general limit,” drivers can still be penalized for dangerous driving or for failing to adjust speed to weather, traffic, or visibility. That’s the Isle of Man, a small island nestled in the Irish Sea between Britain and Ireland. That autonomy helps explain what makes it unique: much of its rural road network has no national speed limit, even though careless and dangerous driving laws still apply.³That doesn’t mean it’s a free-for-all. Germany – The Autobahn And Its Unspoken CodeThen there’s Germany, home of the Autobahn, the holy grail for petrolheads. Elsewhere, roads may be filled with limits and warnings, but in these corners of Europe, speed is still a matter of judgement, not legislation.

As the new year issues its annual invitation to stocktake, the thing I keep thinking is where we might place the equivalent emotional pivot points, those periods in which, after years of – God willing! – pottering along feeling roughly the same, suddenly, one day, there’s a change. I turned 50 at the end of November, which in any age prior to ours, would put me safely on the other side of a full-scale midlife crisis. Three big pivot points in a life when one becomes, briefly but acutely, aware of time passing, and which in my experience, tends to hit during even-numbered years (for that reason, I’ve always preferred the lower pressure of odd-number ages). That’s the other thing about these pivot points: their unavoidability.
