LOADING ERROR LOADINGNew York Times reporter and longtime Donald Trump observer Maggie Haberman suggested the former president and current GOP nominee “would welcome” the claim from his wife, former first lady Melania Trump, in her new memoir that she is in favor of abortion rights. Advertisement“But attention it is getting, it is not something that former White House advisors remember her talking about in either direction, pro or con,” Haberman continued. “Abortion rights was not exactly a small issue when he was in office. He was in the middle of appointing this conservative, super majority of the Supreme Court ... that repealed the Roe v. Wade abortion rights decision from 1973, and she is apparently against it,” she noted. “And her husband is still struggling mightily with how to articulate what he actually thinks on abortion while also saying that he terminated Roe v. Google’s grip on the nearly $300B search advertising business is loosening, The Wall Street Journal’s Suzanne Vranica and Miles Kruppa report. TikTok has recently started allowing brands to target ads based on users’ search queries-a direct challenge to Google’s core business, the authors note. Perplexity, an AI search startup backed by Jeff Bezos, plans to introduce ads later this month under its AI-generated answers. Until now, it has made revenue mostly from a $20-a-month subscription offering that grants access to more-powerful AI technology. The new initiatives add to the pressure on Google from the rise of Amazon.com, which has taken a chunk of search ad spending, the publication adds.
