LOADING ERROR LOADINGJournalist Garrett Graff, a former editor of Politico magazine, said “it’s time” for the press to start asking deeper questions about President Donald Trump’s health. He added that the same press now facing questions over how it handled questions over former President Joe Biden’s health should be more willing to “dig deeper” now. The post came after days of limited appearances, unusual by his standards, and followed comments by Trump allies vouching for his health. Advertisement“The president is in incredibly good health,” Vice President JD Vance told USA Today last week. And Eric Trump, one of the president’s sons, called the media “sick and twisted” due to the questions over his father’s health.

A federal judge has put a temporary halt to President Donald Trump’s deployment of the National Guard and U.S. Marines to Los Angeles against the wishes of California Gov. Gavin Newsom, finding the president violated a bedrock American law known as the Posse Comitatus Act. At its height, there were over 4,000 National Guard and 700 Marines deployed to LA, prompting Newsom to sue the administration. Newsom alleged the Trump administration violated the Posse Comitatus Act, a 1789 law that forbids the military from engaging in civilian law enforcement. Usually, National Guard troops are only deployed at the behest of state or city officials.

LOADING ERROR LOADINGCARACAS, Venezuela (AP) — Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro on Monday said he “would constitutionally declare a republic in arms” if the South American country were attacked by forces that the United States government has deployed to the Caribbean. Maduro also used his news conference to insist that he was the legitimate winner of last year’s presidential election. But ample and credible evidence has shown the contrary, prompting several countries, including the U.S., to not recognize Maduro as Venezuela’s president. He called Secretary of State Marco Rubio a “warlord” pushing for action in the Caribbean to topple Venezuela’s government. Since the July 2024 presidential election, Venezuela’s political opposition has been urging the U.S. and other countries to pressure Maduro into leaving office.

In reality, of the estimated 14-23% of women who are diagnosed with maternal mental health disorders, only around 8% of them are taking an SSRI. In fact, research indicates that many women are reluctant to take antidepressants during pregnancy, and nearly 50% of women taking an SSRI before pregnancy stop taking it during pregnancy. And now that I’m due with my third baby in three years, stopping my medication didn’t even cross my mind. In other words, the FDA panel enhanced fear and skepticism amongst a population already vulnerable to misinformation.

A host of other Trump decisions, though, do not spring from well-developed or even hastily dashed-off ideologies. AdvertisementMore recently, Trump has taken to claiming that he will reduce the price of prescription drugs by mathematically impossible amounts. To honor Trump’s order, Army Corps officials notified local authorities at around noon that it would be fully opening the floodgates that same evening. It was only because state and local water managers were able to persuade the Army Corps not to release the maximum flow of water that the channels did not flood. In the end, water flowed out of the reservoirs at 2,500 cubic feet per second, rather than the 5,000 the Army Corps had originally planned.
