Specifically, the investigated goods is polypropylene copolymer classified under HS code 3902.30.90. The TRAV emphasised that the application of anti-dumping measures (if any) would negatively affect Vietnamese polypropylene copolymer producers and exporters, reducing their competitive advantages, leading to the risk of losing part or all of the export market to Indonesia. Polypropylene copolymer is a thermoplastic material that possesses many enabling properties and is used in a wide range of applications that can be found in packaging, home appliances, auto parts, textile manufacturing and medical devices. The chemical and moisture resistance of polypropylene copolymer has led to its frequent use in the manufacture of food containers, beverage bottles. In addition, the textile industry uses polypropylene copolymer to create nonwovens for protective gear and filters.

International furniture & home accessories fair to open in HCM City this month
HCM CITY — The first Vietnam ASEAN International Furniture & Home Accessories Fair will be held in HCM City’s Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre from August 29 to September 1, featuring nearly 200 exhibitors in 600 booths. VIFA ASEAN 2023 will see the participation of many reputable local and international furniture and handicraft manufacturers, including those from the US, Korea, China, Japan, India, the Netherlands, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Thailand, and Cambodia. Australia decides not to impose anti-dumping duties on ammonium nitrate from Việt Nam
HÀ NỘI — The Anti-Dumping Commission of Australia (ADC) has officially concluded its investigation and decided not to impose anti-dumping duties on ammonium nitrate products originating from Lithuania and Việt Nam, the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s Trade Remedies Authority of Vietnam (TRAV) has announced. Earlier, the ADC reported that ammonium nitrate products were to be subject to dumping during the investigation period from April 1, 2021 to March 31, 2022. According to the Trade Remedies Authority of Việt Nam, ammonium nitrate products imported from Lithuania and Việt Nam account for approximately 0.8 per cent and 0.2 per cent of the total market share in Australia, respectively. Previously, the case was initiated by the ADC on June 8, 2022, involving Chile, Lithuania, and Việt Nam. In August 2022, the ADC announced the termination of the investigation into Chile as the country did not export ammonium nitrate during the investigation period.

Vietnam to send representatives to 15th BRICS Summit
Like many countries around the world, Vietnam pays attention to the progress of discussions on expanding membership of the BRICS Group of major emerging economies - Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Hang made the statement when answering a question on the relationship between Vietnam and BRICS at the regular press conference of the ministry on August 17 in Hanoi. Citizens from 13 countries allowed to enter Vietnam for 45 days
32 issued last year, citizens from 13 countries could stay in Vietnam for 45 days instead of 15 days since their entry, regardless of passport type or purpose of entry if they meet entry requirements in line with Vietnam law. The 13 countries include Germany, France, Italy, Spain, the UK, Russia, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland and Belarus.
