Doctors of Military Hospital 175 give health care services to the fisherman on the way to the mainland (Photo: VNA)– Military Hospital 175 under the Ministry of National Defence has coordinated with Army Corps 18 to successfully transport a fisherman having severe health problems while operating in the waters of Truong Sa (Spratly) in the south-central province of Khanh Hoa to the mainland for emergency aid, the hospital reported on August 15.The fisherman showed symptoms of headache, fatigue and leg cramps after diving at a depth of 30m to catch seafood on August 13.He was brought to Tien Nu island where he received first aid, and then moved to Phan Vinh island’s medical station where he got intensive treatment. However, his condition did not improve but worsened.After a consultation via a telemedicine system with local medical staff, doctors the hospital concluded that the victim suffers Type 2 hypotension and gallstones. They proposed the transportation of the patient to the mainland by helicopter for treatment.On August 14 night, a helicopter took off from Tan Son Nhat International Airport in Ho Chi Minh City, carrying doctors of the hospital to Phan Vinh island. The helicopter successfully and safely brought the patient to the hospital in the early morning of August 15.The patient’s conditions have stabilised and doctors are working hard to avoid dangerous complications for the patient./.

HCM CITY — Technology company HP Inc reported a reduction in its carbon emissions by 18 per cent since 2019, which takes it closer to its goal of achieving net zero carbon emissions by 2040. It is one of many goals in its 2022 Sustainable Impact Report 2022 that the company released recently. It has successfully introduced more than 20 new packaging innovation projects that reduced the environmental impact, like reducing single-use plastic packaging by 55 to 99 grams/unit in 2022. In 2022 HP implemented 77 operational changes and 15 energy conservation projects that are expected to reduce annual energy consumption by 9,416 mWh. Through a partnership with local NGO Sống Foundation, HP Vietnam has contributed to reforestation efforts by donating 2,237 saplings in Soc Trang and Ninh Thuan provinces through the Green Happiness and Forest Symphony programme.

HCM CITY — Pepper growers and exporters need to focus on improving quality and diversifying their products to sustain the country’s position as the world’s largest producer and exporter of the spice, according to the Việt Nam Pepper and Spice Association. Anh said pepper exports to the EU decreased this year though cinnamon exports increased by 26.1 per cent. To achieve success in the EU market, businesses must meet technical requirements such as contamination test and heat treatment, authenticity and purity standards, sustainable sourcing, and so on. Hoàng Thị Liên, chairwoman of the Việt Nam Pepper and Spice Association, said with sustainable production and consumption becoming increasingly important in the eyes of consumers, the association had a plan to develop the sector in a sustainable manner. The association has set targets for pepper and other spice export of US$1.8 billion by 2025 and $2.5-3 billion by 2030.

The country is expected to enjoy a trade surplus of 9.1 billion USD.In the second one, CIEM expects the country's GDP will rise by 5.72%, with the export turnover decreasing by 3.66%, and the average CPI increasing by 3.87%. Accordingly, full-year exports will decrease by only 2.17%, while the average CPI increasing by 4.39%. The country will enjoy a trade surplus of around 6.8 billion USD.Phan Le Thanh Long, CEO of AFA Group, predicted that the exchange rate of VND/USD will slightly increase within 1%./.

They are 10km in the Oceanman, 5km in the Half Oceanman, 2km in the Sprint, a relay event of Ocean Team 3x800m and Ocean Kids of 800m. The Ocean Team and Ocean Kids will be on September 9 and the main events are on September 10.
