Libya NOC: Technical issues lead to oil production decline
The Libyan National Oil Corporation (NOC) on Monday attributed decline in oil production to technical issues related to electricity in the Masala and Sarir oilfields. NOC clarified in a statement that specialized technical teams of the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) were working to solve the problem. The Corporation stated that the production of crude oil amounted to 1.163 million barrels, and the production of condensate reached 48,000 barrels during the past 24 hours. NOC had announced Sunday that crude oil production amounted to 1.224 million barrels, and condensate production reached 54,000 barrels during the past 24 hours.

New board of Libyan Iron & Steel Company takes over

Bashagha government rejects Dabaiba government’s presidency of Arab League session
The Libyan Government led by Fathi Bashagha has issued a statement rejecting presidency of the 158th session of the Arab League Council at the ministerial level by the outgoing government of Abdul Hamid Dabaiba. “With this action, the League violates its acclaimed role of full solidarity with the state of Libya in its crisis, and the recognition of the Libyan Government as the sole legitimate representative of the Libyan people,” said the statement of the government led by Fathi Bashagha. “Such measures threaten the stability and unity of the country and represent a bias towards a political party that its mandate has expired and lacks legal legitimacy,” it pointed out.

Armed groups block MPs from leaving Tripoli, forcing parliament to cancel session in Benghazi
An armed group at Tripoli’s Mitiga Airport has forcibly prevented 30 members of parliament from leaving the capital, sources told The Libya Update on Monday. The lawmakers were planning to travel to Benghazi to attend a session of the House of Representatives. The House’s spokesman, Abdullah Blehaq, confirmed the news, telling press reporters that the travel blockade against the MPs caused the parliament to cancel today’s session.

Libyan constitutional circuit court looks into appeals against HoR decisions
For the first time since being reactivated in last August, the constitutional circuit court started work on Sunday to look into the appeals against the 10th and 11th constitutional amendments as well as law No.6 of 2018 that is related to constitutional referendum. Local media reported the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, Mohammed Al-Hafi, as saying that the court had "reserved the appeal regarding the 10th and 11th constitutional amendments, and Law No.6 of 2018 regarding the referendum on the draft constitution for ruling next October." The of the Constitution Drafting Assembly, Etimad Al-Masallati, referred earlier that the constitutional circuit court of the Supreme Court would look into the appeals against the aforementioned constitutional amendments and law No.6 of 2018 regarding the referendum on the constitution, which divided Libya into 3 electoral districts instead of one as ordered in the law that established the Constitution Drafting Assembly. The Speaker of the Libyan House of Representatives, Aqila Saleh, has addressed both the Head of the Supreme Judicial Council, and the advisors of the Supreme Court, telling them that he doesn't recognize Al-Hafi as Chief Justice of the Supreme Court, and calling on the Supreme Judicial Council to implement the decision to transfer the court’s headquarters to Al-Bayda, saying that any decision taken by the Supreme Court from its headquarters in Tripoli will be null and void.

Libya chairs 158th session of the Council of the Arab League
The 158th session of the Council of the Arab League, at the level of permanent delegates, convened today at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League, headed by Libya. Libya records 11 new cases of COVID-19
The National Center for Disease Control in Libya (NCDC) reported on Sunday that 11 people tested positive for COVID-19, marking 9 percent of the infection rate. 64 people recovered in the same reporting period. The total recorded COVID-19 cases in Libya have reached more than 500,000 since the start of the pandemic, while over 490,000 of which have recovered, according to the NCDC. The virus has claimed the lives of 6,437 people in total. Over two million people received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, while over one million were fully vaccinated with two doses.

GNMTC prevents tanker Badr from being registered with Israeli maritime authorities
The Libyan state-owned General National Maritime Transport Company (GNMTC) has announced that it was able, through its lawyer, to cancel the registration of the Libyan tanker 'Badr' with the maritime authorities in Israel. The company said in a statement on Friday 'It is still striving through judicial procedures to retrieve the detained tanker Badr'. The Haifa Maritime Court ruled officially canceling the registration of the tanker Badr at the Israeli maritime registration and rejected the Livia Maritime Company’s appeal against the rule canceling the registration, and charged Livia with the litigation cost involved in favour of GNMTC. The GNMTC pointed out that the ruling of the Haifa Maritime Court and the cancellation of the Israeli registration of the ship is valid without any suspension, and that the terms and conditions of the ship's registration have not been met. Family wounded as shell fell on their house in Wirshiffana
The Ambulance and Emergency Services confirmed the return of calm to the Ghout Abu Saq area in Wirshiffana, southwest of Tripoli, after clashes that broke out on Friday evening between armed groups leaving behind 5 wounded civilians. The Ambulance and Emergency Services reported on its Facebook account that "the situation is calm in all axes of fighting, and an initial casualty toll of 5 civilians were slightly wounded.
