Since June 12, netizens have been hash-tagging #BoycottKareenaKapoorKhan after it was reported that she asked for RS12crore (RM6.7mil) for an acting gig. Apparently, the Bollywood star had asked to double her usual fee if she's to take on the role. “In fact, right now, they are reconsidering their decision and also taking the film to a younger actress as well. Turns out Father's Day was inspired by Mother's Day. The original Mothers Day (I won’t spend much time on this because the day is over) started in the 1860s as “Mother’s Work Day”. It turns out that Father's Day was initially not embraced as readily as Mother's Day was. And thus, Mother's Day and Father's Day remained separate because two holidays where you have to buy gifts are better than one for retailers. I can’t even imagine my son turning to me on that day and saying “Happy Defender of the Fatherland Day, Dad”.

In hindsight, we know that Malaysia was one of only a handful of countries worldwide that implemented an automatic moratorium. Most countries implemented a scheme similar to our current Repayment Assistance (RA) and Targeted Repayment Assistance (TRA), strictly based on those who needed it. Let’s take a deeper look into the moratoriumThe impact of the moratorium was immediate and indeed significant to the banking industry. Moratorium is available for those in needThis brings me to the point of why a targeted moratorium is the way to go and not an automatic moratorium. Firstly, an automatic moratorium results in aid being channeled to everyone including the wealthy and those whose salaries/income are unaffected.

Indonesia's hijab-wearing, headbanging VOB count some of rock music's biggest stars among their fans, but the all-female heavy metal band faced a tougher battle in winning over their parents. "When I'm on stage, I can express myself without worrying about the norms that people expect from me". Obeying those norms would have compelled the three women to marry right after high school. "My parents told me that reading was useless, let alone playing music," said the band's bespectacled singer and lead guitarist Firda Marsya Kurnia, 20. In the meantime, VOB say they'll keep drawing inspiration from the women in their hometown, where many do back-breaking farm work.
