PETALING JAYA: The Terengganu Mentri Besar and his fellow administrators in the 11-member state executive council will be forgoing a month of their salary and donating it to the Palestinians. “God willing, my fellow state exco members and I have decided to take a one-month pay cut in aid of the Palestinian people who are currently fighting against the Jewish Zionists," said Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar (pic) in a Facebook post on Friday (May 14). He accompanied the post with a news article from TV Darul Iman, the state video channel, saying that the aid will be channelled to the #Aid4Palestine fund. The Mentri Besar said the move has also received support from government backbenchers in Terengganu who have agreed to contribute RM3,000 each towards the fund. Government-linked companies in the state, too, have so far raised RM100,000 for the cause, Ahmad Samsuri was also quoted as saying.

But a decade-old project in London bringing an eco-friendly combination of gardening, horticulture and so-called rewilding to the urban jungle is bearing fruit during the pandemic. “Energy Garden is really about building resilience in communities. There are even hops from which Energy Garden brews its own beer. Collectively it’s really important, so that we can make sure people have access to organic food. The designs for each site are formally approved by the agency Transport for London, which manages the capital’s sprawling network.

After overthrowing Egypt's first democratically elected president in 2013 and pushing through painful fiscal reforms, Sisi is invested in the infrastructure drive's success. Some of those displaced by new roads are unhappy at losing their homes, others at seeing their neighbourhoods suddenly transformed. Officials present the road building as part of efforts to develop informal areas across Egypt, connecting them to transport networks and basic services. The road building surge – social media posts dub Egypt "the republic of roads and bridges" – has triggered disquiet for other reasons. Bridge and road building near the pyramids, around Cairo's "cities of the dead" where people live among old family tombs, and in the genteel neighbourhood of Heliopolis, has alarmed conservationists.

Grand Opening, Grand Closing” is probably the best way to describe the events of the proposed European Super League (ESL) in mid-April. Twelve of the most commercially significant football teams in Europe sought to create their own league, in place of the existing Uefa Champions League, which is, at present, the most elite inter-Europe club football tournament. The current global football organisation — from national teams to club teams to intercontinental or intracontinental competition — is sports commerce of the highest order. The odds of an improbable Leicester City title win (a club not among the English League Big Six) were 6,000 to 1 back in 2015. I think Undi18 and getting 18 year olds to vote in Malaysia is one reform that can shock the system.

It can be done in just two or three steps: find a messenger alternative, back up WhatsApp chats if necessary, then delete your account. Save your old messages: If you're ditching WhatsApp, you may want to keep your old messages and media (photos, videos and voice messages). If the WhatsApp account is deleted, all chats and backups are also deleted - irretrievably. To leave WhatsApp, tap on the three-dot menu or settings at the top right and select "Account/Delete my account". With a final tap on the red "Delete my account" button, the job is done and the app can then be removed from your smartphone.

By April 2020, one US study found, telemedicine visits already accounted for 13% of all medical claims compared with 0.15% a year earlier. Covid-19 let virtual medicine out of the bottle. For most patients, in-person visits were required in large part because it was the only way a doctor could bill. After a head injury last April – when I couldn’t yet drive – I was grateful for some insurance-reimbursed virtual visits with doctors and physical therapists. Is a video call worth the same as an in-person doctor’s visit?

Among the more extravagant requests were a coffin made of oversized Lego bricks, a yacht casket, a fire engine – and a cream-filled doughnut. A yacht coffin made by Hall's company. In the case of the Lego coffin, for example, the urn was a simple red Lego brick.
