Reminder for flyers — be at the airport 3 hours before flight
As travel protocols become easier, travel has begun to pick up right in time for the summer season. Over 2,000 arrivals expected with flight ban lifted on Friday
Hong Kong will see over 2,000 passengers on more than 20 flights arriving in the city on Friday as the flight ban imposed on nine countries will be lifted. The nine countries whose flights ban will be lifted are Australia, Canada, the US, the UK, France, India, Pakistan, the Philippines, and Nepal. According to the airport website, as of Thursday afternoon, three flights will arrive in Hong Kong from Manila – the soonest one at 7.55am – and one from London. Vaccine pass protects health but zero-Covid out of step, says judge
The High Court has dismissed a challenge against the vaccine pass, but a judge criticized the zero-Covid strategy as "increasingly out of step." Law Yee-mei filed for a judicial review last month against the vaccine pass for restricting her and unvaccinated people from visiting certain premises. In a written judgment yesterday, Justice Russell Coleman said there is room for people to criticize anti-pandemic measures, but the only relevant question is whether the vaccine pass breaches any principle of public law. But Coleman dismissed the challenge against the vaccine pass as it "strikes a reasonable balance" between the protection of public health and the restriction on individual rights. He noted the vaccine pass expires on December 31 and Hongkongers are not required by the law to get vaccinated.
