The work was part of a collection donated by Swiss collector Uli Sigg three years ago, well before the national security law that was enforced here at midnight of June 30 last year. The Ai exhibit may be an isolated case, but it is of sufficient concern to pose a dilemma that the cultural district authority will have to face in the longer term. Presumably, the exhibits will be carefully selected from the 7,700 items that the museum already has in its possession. Some may still be critical from a sociological perspective but none will be anywhere near the political red line. While Fung won't let this happen, it can be anticipated that the cautious approach will also invite criticism from some corners of society.

THE race to Malacañang could be anyone's game at this time even if some surveys have shown some front-runners, OCTA researcher Dr. Guido David said on Thursday. "From what I am seeing right now, there is a clear front-runner, at least for the presidential survey, but based on historical data, races are still usually wide open at this stage. Even if preliminary data, survey results show there are some front-runners, it's not insurmountable at this time," he explained during the virtual Pandesal Forum on Thursday. I think it is still wide open for three or four of the candidates," David added. He said that survey results may be more conclusive as the election season draws nearer.
