For decades, Orange County was a conservative stronghold, adjacent to its left-leaning neighbor, Los Angeles County. "This is not a sign that Orange County is suddenly a red county," he said. In 2016, Clinton received roughly 100,000 more votes in Orange County than Trump. North Korean troops have officially entered Russia’s war against Ukraine. They fought against Ukrainian forces currently occupying Russia’s Kursk region in a small-scale engagement. The fight was likely an attempt to look for weaknesses in the Ukrainian lines. While it is unclear when exactly the fighting occurred, North Korean troops were killed in the confrontation. There are concerns that Russia may provide North Korea significant military assistance, increasing danger to North Korea’s neighbors.

The consultants and AI CEOs in the room all expressed some frustration that their clients and customers invariably looked at generative AI primarily for productivity and cost cutting. Most agreed that “productivity and cost cutting” were among the least interesting things you could do with generative AI. Chat, they reminded was/is only one way of engaging with generative AI, but its ease of use and its accessibility has already narrowed executive thinking. No matter what you’re doing with generative AI, from drug discovery to marketing copy, you have to review what it is doing very, very closely, and likely will for a lot longer than most experts are now letting on.

TV Ratings: Election Night Viewing Drops Sharply
TV viewing on election night dropped off considerably from four years ago. Primetime coverage of the presidential election averaged 42.29 million viewers across 18 cable and broadcast networks from 7-11 p.m. That’s a steep, 26 percent decline from four years ago, which drew 56.92 million viewers, and the least watched election night since the ratings service began keeping total viewer tallies in 2000. Rare pair of Ming Dynasty jars smash auction estimate, selling for $12.5 million
A pair of rare Ming Dynasty fish jars dating from the 16th century have sold for £9.6 million ($12.5 million) at auction, smashing their estimate of £1 million ($1.3 million). “This remarkable result makes it the highest priced Chinese work of art sold at auction worldwide this year,” said Sotheby’s. Part of the lot’s appeal was the fact that this was the first ever appearance of a complete pair of fish jars with covers at auction.
