On the second Monday of October, Americans will be celebrating Indigenous Peoples’ Day, also known as Columbus Day. Indigenous Peoples’ Day recognizes the contributions and legacy of those who lived here long before Christopher Columbus erroneously claimed to have discovered America. President Joe Biden formally recognized Indigenous Peoples’ Day in 2021 by signing a proclamation stating that federal policies “systematically sought to assimilate and displace Native people and eradicate Native cultures.”Some states officially celebrate Indigenous Peoples’ Day and others commemorate it through proclamations. More than 100 cities have replaced Columbus Day altogether with the holiday. Chase Bank and TD Bank will be open for Indigenous Peoples’ Day.

Today’s NYTimes features a video of an interview where Lulu Garcia-Navarro asks JD Vance repeatedly whether Trump lost the 2020 election and he repeatedly refuses to answer. When she asks the question for the fourth time, Vance says “I’ve answered your question with another question. You answer my question and I’ll answer yours.” She persists and asks her question again. What she should have done is say “no you won’t” and then answered his question. Vance would have refused to answer again and she could say “So when you said you would answer my question if I answered your’s, you were lying.”

Yet, while all the attention is on the MacBook Pro line-up in general and the entry-level M4-powered MacBook Pro, the real game changer has yet to arrive. When the M1 Pro and M1 Max MacBook Pro models appeared with different physical configurations, it was clear that the first M1 MacBook Pro was an upgraded Air rather than a true MacBook Pro. The professionally focused 14-inch MacBook Pro and 16-inch MacBook Pro will have options to use the more advanced and powerful M4 Pro and M4 Max chipsets. Instead, you’re left with the M4 MacBook Pro, a MacBook Air in all but name, and a far cry from the engineering and performance found in the genuine MacBook Pros also on sale. The M4-powered MacBook Pro may look like an attractive alternative to the mighty M4 Pro and M4 Max MacBook Pros, but if you want a powerful MacBook Air specced laptop… why not wait for the real thing?

The research, published in July in Transplantation and Cellular Therapy, found that factors like age, race, and income impact whether patients receive these therapies. Surprisingly, proximity to a treatment center also played a crucial role. The FDA mandates that patients remain near the treatment center for 4 weeks after treatment and refrain from driving for 8 weeks. Their study showed that older patients were less likely to receive CAR T, with the likelihood decreasing by 4% for each year increase in age. There was also a trend toward Hispanic patients being less likely to receive CAR T, although this did not reach statistical significance.
