AdvertisementWe asked teachers what they wish parents would do to prepare kids for this annual transition. The first weeks of school can be exhausting for everybody, Tarbet added, so anything you can do to help kids get back into the rhythm of the school year can make things easier. “Oftentimes I think we ask kids did they make a friend today, and maybe we can reframe the conversation,” Enna said. Instead, we can ask kids about ways they showed kindness to others and others showed kindness to them. “Parents speaking positively about school to their child can help alleviate anxiety their child might be feeling,” she added.

Betts has a .307 average, .877 OPS, 12 homers and 46 RBIs when he bats second. Roberts said he has spoken to Betts about the move to the second spot in the order. That attitude — combined with Betts' athleticism and flexibility — prompted the Dodgers to move him from right field to second base last winter and from second base to shortstop in spring training. The slick-fielding Miguel Rojas replaced Betts in mid-June and played superb defense before suffering a right forearm injury on July 21. Utility infielder Tommy Edman, acquired from St. Louis last week, could play more outfield when he returns from an ankle injury.

And in 91 days, the nation will know Coach Walz by another name: Vice President of the United States.” “Thank you, Madam Vice President, for the trust you put in me, but maybe more so, thank you for bringing back the joy. First of all, he doesn’t know the first thing about service. And I got to tell you, I can’t wait to debate the guy.”

But more dire than Hezbollah’s rocket arsenal is the threat that it will launch an Oct. 7-style ground incursion into Israel. The immediate crisis is a result of what Israel officials say was a Hezbollah rocket attack that killed 12 Israeli Druze youths. Since the day after Hamas’ Oct. 7 massacre, Hezbollah has been firing rockets into Israel almost daily. They have indicated that if Hezbollah doesn’t agree to retreat from the border, Israel will clear it by force. But most Israeli officials understand that a war with Hezbollah today would be like no war Israel has ever fought.
