Sports News of Wednesday, 31 December 2025Source: www.ghanaweb.comThe Super Eagles of Nigeria are set to face some of Africa’s football giants as they head into the knockout stage of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). If the Super Eagles manage to overcome their quarter‑final opponents, the path becomes even tougher, as they could meet either the hosts or one of the favorites in the competition. Thus, in the semi‑finals, Nigeria could face either hosts Morocco or South Africa’s Bafana Bafana, which would be a cagey encounter. The Super Eagles boast stars such as Victor Osimhen of Galatasaray, Ademola Lookman of Atalanta, Alex Iwobi, Calvin Bassey of Fulham, and veteran goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali. Nigeria are determined to win their fourth AFCON title to appease fans after missing out on the 2026 World Cup, but they face a tough road ahead.

Among those unsuccessful names is the man Eric Charles Kofi Wayo, who was the Founder of the defunct United Renaissance Party (URP). In March 2004, Kofi Wayo filed his presidential nomination on the ticket of the People’s National Convention (PNC) to challenge for the presidency in the 2004 Election. This was an official attempt to become a presidential candidate, although he did not become the flagbearer of the party. And then in 2007, he formed the United Renaissance Party (URP) and stepped into its flagbearer role, after leaving other parties. With little details about him and what he has been up to online – social media especially, the real question is where is Kofi Wayo?

General News of Wednesday, 31 December 2025Source: antigua.newsA wave of diplomatic retaliation is emerging across the globe as the United States widens its travel ban and tightens visa restrictions, prompting several nations to respond by targeting American travellers. In recent weeks, the U.S. administration expanded its visa ban policy to 39 countries, including Antigua and Barbuda and other Caribbean and African nations, citing security concerns and alleged immigration overstays. The move sparked immediate condemnation from affected governments and has triggered a shift toward visa reciprocity and defensive foreign policy measures. Earlier this year, Chad also suspended the issuance of visas to U.S. nationals, announcing the move shortly after being named on a previous U.S. travel ban list. The sharp rise in visa conflicts signals a shift away from the international travel norms of recent decades.
