Liam Cullen leads Wales to Nations League promotionBy Phil Blanche, PAWales won Nations League promotion as Liam Cullen’s first two international goals helped them to a 4-1 victory over Iceland. Promotion was achieved the hard way following Andri Gudjohnsen’s early strike, and for 25 minutes Wales were staring at a relegation play-off against a League C runner-up. It was Wilson’s fourth goal in this Nations League campaign and his 12th in total for Wales. Cullen sent a grasscutter at Hakon Valdimarsson and drew Wales level after 32 minutes by nodding home Johnson’s cross. Wilson did the rest with an unerring 20-yard shot to confirm that Wales will now be beginning their World Cup campaign rather than entering the Nations League play-offs.

Only eat woke sandwiches from now on. I remember when a sandwich were a PROPER sandwich. Proper stale factory bread, wit’ proper cheese slices and proper salad dressing, all wrapped up in proper sweaty plastic. GenZ kids are committing treason against King Charles the Third of Wales, or something, by eating “woke” sandwiches. What’s in a woke sandwich?

She made clear the independent review would be carried out by media and human rights experts and would not involve political interference. And, by the way, the proposal is a human rights and journalistic expert review. So it’s very much a peer review. “This is a matter of trust and a matter of confidence, it is a matter of peer review,” she said. Peer review is standard.

Team HeraldMARGAO: In a detailed statement addressing recent industry concerns, Novex Communications, a public performance rights, copyright, and anti-piracy brand, clarified the legal position regarding music licencing requirements for weddings and marriage-related events in commercial venues. According to Novex, the Ministry of Commerce and Industry has placed its public notice dated July 24, 2023, in abeyance. The court had previously quashed a similar public notice from August 27, 2019, establishing important precedents for the industry. The company points to the HC’s clear stance that when copyrighted music is played in commercial spaces, the element of commercial gain cannot be dismissed, even for wedding ceremonies. the organiser and the DJ but also the venue which is liable for taking the licence,” says the statement from Novex.

By David Young, PAAn “honest and upfront” approach from the Social Democrats not to promise undeliverable tax cuts is resonating with the electorate, the party’s deputy leader has said. Launching the Social Democrats’ manifesto, Cian O’Callaghan insisted policy platforms put forward by other parties to invest in public services while cutting taxes were “not credible”. Mr O’Callaghan is fronting the Social Democrats’ election campaign as party leader Holly Cairns is due to give birth this week. The 50,000 affordable homes for purchase is part of a wider housing target, which also includes 25,000 affordable rental homes and 70,000 social homes in the next mandate. “We are being very upfront, saying that you cannot have improved public services and have tax cuts at the same time,” the deputy leader added.

Gisèle Pelicot, 72, a former logistics manager, has become a feminist hero after insisting that the rape trial of her ex-husband and the other men be held in public to raise awareness of the use of drugs and sedation to rape women. “At what moment were they respectful [to me]?” asked Gisèle Pelicot. She said this was a trial of “cowardice” – implying that society needed to be braver when facing up to the reality of rape. Of the 51 men on trial, she said: “For me they are all guilty. We all make our choices.”Dominique Pelicot had told the court that he raped Gisèle Pelicot about two to three times a week.

Coleen Rooney says Wagatha Christie court case was her ‘worst nightmare’By Ellie Iorizzo and Casey Cooper-Fiske, PAColeen Rooney said going to court over her Wagatha Christie feud with Rebekah Vardy was her “worst nightmare” as she felt she was “putting on a show for the whole world”, but added she was not scared about making the viral post which kicked off the dispute. Rooney was dubbed Wagatha Christie when she accused Vardy of leaking her private information to the press. In July 2022, a judge at the High Court found the post was “substantially true”. “That was my worst nightmare to go to court… I felt ashamed going to court because I am not that type to play things out in public. Later in the episode, Rooney became emotional over the loss of her sister Rosie, after boxing star Barry McGuigan spoke about the death of his daughter.

The distillery introduced Ruadh Maor, a peat-smoked form of The Glenturret whisky in 2009, which alongside their unpeated spirit, has been produced annually. This transition has been announced just as The Glenturret is recognised as Walpole’s Sustainable Luxury Brand of the Year. "Our attention to detail is second to none and as a small team, it’s incredible what we can achieve in our whisky making. Prior to acquisition, the majority of the distillery’s spirit was distilled and matured with blending in mind.
