Woman dies in hospital after west Belfast road collision
By Rebecca Black, PAA woman has died and a second pedestrian was injured in a road collision in west Belfast at the weekend. Police said the two pedestrians were struck by a car in the Hannahstown Hill area on Saturday evening. Inspector Cherith Adair, from the collision investigation unit, said police received a report about the incident shortly after 6.50pm on Saturday. She said: “Officers attended, alongside our colleagues from partner emergency services, and established that the vehicle had been involved in a collision with the pedestrians and a second vehicle. “Sadly, one of the pedestrians, a female in her 70s, later died from her injuries in hospital.

Parents of sextortion victim urge others not to feel ashamed and to seek help

Galway grandmother in fatal road crash was just 50 metres from her home
Seán McCárthaighA Galway grandmother suffered fatal injuries when she was struck by a vehicle while crossing a busy road just 50 metres from her home, an inquest has heard. “I could do nothing to avoid her,” said Mr Feeney, who had alerted emergency services to the crash. In reply to questions from the coroner, Aisling Gannon, Mr Feeney said he was surprised to find someone crossing the road at that location. A care worker who came on the scene and attended the victim, Chrystal Burke, said Ms Casserly had laboured breathing which stopped at one stage. He noted Ms Casserly was about 50 metres from her home, while the closest pedestrian crossing to the scene of the crash was 280 metres away.

England blew away 10-man Republic of Ireland 5-0 to wrap up promotion to the Nations League top flight as four players netted their first international goals on Sunday, while Adrien Rabiot scored twice as France beat Italy. Jarrod Bowen joined the party, sweeping home his first England goal with his first touch just seconds after coming on as a substitute. - Rabiot downs Azzurri -France snatched top spot in Group A2 from Italy with a 3-1 success at the San Siro. Haaland nodded in his 37th international goal 14 minutes later, before Antonio Nusa added a Norwegian third of a dominant first half. Nusa scored again as Norway snatched automatic promotion from Austria, who conceded a late equaliser to Slovenia in Vienna.

Fine Gael, Fianna Fáil, Sinn Féin, the Green Party, Labour Party, Social Democrats, People Before Profit, Aontú and Independent groupings of all sorts. The party leaders and their spin doctors will descend on Montrose tonight for the debate on Upfront with Katie Hannon. The leaders of the big parties will just want to emerge unscathed, knowing their own debate will follow a week later.
