The Nimba primary was held amid tension and violence, yet the primary committee announced Madam Weh as winner with 127 votes against Wongbe’s six votes. This result was immediately rejected by the ANC of which Wongbe is a member. The ANC had earlier rejected the resolution, indicating that it had “renewed its objection and rejection to the results of the highly flawed Nimba County Primary”. What happened is our right as a political party to decide who we will send as delegates. Under this circumstance, I, Alexander B. Cummings, have agreed to let Edit Gongloe represent the CPP in Nimba.

MONROVIA – Liberia’s leading election Observation group, the Elections Coordinating Committee (ECC), has alarmed over what it considers the sale of democracy in the country. According to Bloh, ECC observers have reported the trucking of voters from Montserrado into Bomi, particularly district number one. One case in point was in District Number One, at the CH Dwey High School with center code number 03071 and Klay Town Hall with center code 03043, Electoral District Number 2. Another incident was reported from Bomi County, Electoral District 1 at center: Moses Vincent Compound with code 03075 where violence, harassment and intimidation disrupted the VRU exercise. For social distancing, only in 64 centers that registrants and officials practiced social distancing while in 35 centers, there was no social distancing.

The book was written by Madam Benda Brewer Moore under the Kids Educational Engagement Program (KEEP). She used the occasion to urge parents to spearhead the reading skills of their children at home in a bid of preparing them for leadership in the future. She disclosed that the book “Sundaymah’s Adventures” is first series of a true life story that encourages local content and focuses on the overcoming the fear of public speaking.

Health Ministry officials along other partners, including WHO officials, celebrating World Patient Safety Day at the Ministry of HealthMonrovia – The Ministry of Health (MOH) in collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) Liberia Office and other health partners last Thursday, September 17, launched the Liberia’s Patients’ Charter. Dr. Logan also stated that patients’ safety is tied to the safety of health care workers, as well. He indicated that the onus is now on the Health Ministry to distribute the document of the charter to every healthcare facility around the country. The launch was done on the day that the world celebrated World Patient Safety Day under the theme: Heath Workers Safety, A Priority for Patient Safety. “By pursuing patient-centered policies, redesigning processes, ramping-up hygiene practices and transforming organizational cultures, health care can be made safer,” she added.

Sacramento, CA – Three former leaders of the Press Union of Liberia (PUL) are appealing to the United States to impose sanctions on the Chair and Commissioners of the National Elections Commission (NEC) in Liberia if the December 2020 midterm senatorial elections are declared to be fraudulent and not conducted in keeping with acceptable international standards. Williams, who served as secretary-general and acting PUL president after Abalo also voted with his feet due to growing death threats. The former PUL leaders predict that if the NEC colludes with the government to declare a fraudulent result of the senatorial elections, violence could erupt again in Liberia, as was the case in 1985 when military ruler Samuel Doe rigged the presidential and legislative elections. The former PUL leaders also seriously condemn the widespread practice of rape in the Liberian society, and they called on the Weah government to institute strong measures to curb this evil. Why have the religious leaders in Liberia been so silent when the country is in turmoil?

The ruling came out of a petition for a declaratory judgment sought by the chairman of the NPP, Mr. James Biney and other members of the party. A declaratory judgement is the when the court declare rights, status, and other legal relations whether or not further relief is or could be claimed. And in the absence of the Chairman, the next Vice Chairperson in line presides. The new ruling from the Court indicates that all decisions derived at the June 12, 2020 meeting at Corona Hotel chaired by Chairman Biney are deem irreversible while a parallel meeting held by the standard-bearer at the party’s headquarters are denied and dismissed.

Wallace, this initiatives is the management own way of coming to the aide of the residents of the City in rehabilitating damaged community roads, including Lake Shepherd and the Stadium Road Communities. The two communities’ roads got damaged barely due to the heavy down pull of rain in the County, which has made many residents to be hit by motorbikes accidents as a result of the deplorable condition of those roads while traveling to various locations. Meanwhile, The Sea Port Manager disclosed that though the rehabilitations of all of the Communities roads in Harper may be cost intensive, seeing the Economic hardship engulfed by the government, but it is another way of buttressing the efforts of the government in reconditioning these major ones. I know they will continue to join hands with me in the district for us to do to more in the future”, he stressed.

Ganta, Nimba County – The United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in collaboration with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Tuesday, organized a two-day National Youth dialogue for the revision of Liberia’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC) to the Paris Agreement. On the other hand, the NDCs are at the heart of the Paris Agreement and the achievement of these long-term goals. “…and the youth community needs to take charge by ensuring that they play the advocacy and supporting role that is needed to ensure that Liberia implements its NDC commitments,” he revealed. Taylor added that the idea about having a dialogue on the NDCs exclusively with young people was to get the full participation of youths. The ACE focal point is however calling on the entire population to not only take the issue of climate change as a matter of science but also as a developmental issue.

Troops Contributing Countries (TCC) that once contributed troops in Liberia during our crises are presently facing some economic, political or security issues.

Solway’s Fenix Project is a fully integrated ferronickel production facility in eastern Guatemala first developed in 1960.
