Monrovia – Liberia’s female football club, Determine Girls FC, has unveiled its new bus ahead of the 2020/2021 LFA League season which might probably kick off in October this year. Determine Girls FC has seen tremendous transformation in the past months after signing three top players including a striker for the Guinean league. “As we await the new league season, we are pleased to unveil our new team bus. A 22-seater fully AC [airconditioned] bus valued at L$2.8M (US$14,000),” the club posted on its Facebook page on Monday. “As the first Liberian women’s football club to own a bus, we will continue to wisely use support funds from the Liberia Football Association (LFA) and FIFA in order to build our club and contribute to the development of women’s football in Liberia.

Bishop Brown indicated that President Weah must take up what he calls a “public role” to ensure that the virus is eradicated from Liberia. LIFOCA, in a statement issued during the weekend, said it is seeking financial assistance from its members and the public to identify with the two ailing coaches who have contributed to the development of football over the years. According to the parent body of coaches in Liberia, it is deeply saddened by the illness of coach Jokar Wreachar and Robert Lartey, while calling for support to fund the pair treatment. Coach Jokar Wreachar, who played for Lone Star and Invincible Eleven in the 1980s before going on to coach IE, has been suffering a strange foot illness since 2007. Coach Wreachar was on the coaching staff that won the Nigerian Premier League with Enyimba FC in 2004 before returning home in 2007 to join the technical team of the Lone Star. During a radio interview in Monrovia, he revealed how he returned from Nigeria with the foot illness and has since struggled with the pain.

Boakai made the revelation on Monday, June 29, at the Criminal Court ‘C’ when he took the witness’ stand. Witness Boakai is the Program Manager for Enforcement and Investigations at the Liberia Anti-Corruption Commission (LACC). He continued: “We also saw a communication dated August 7, 2017, written and signed by former President Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf addressed to Hon. Joseph K. Jallah, legal counsel of the CBL at the time, in September of 2017,” he said. He added that the investigation also established that the total amount of Liberian dollars printed was L$13,004,750,000.00 instead of the L$10 billion.

BEIJING – A Liberian, Plingloh Emmanuel Munyeneh on Saturday graduated from the National School of Development (NSD), Peking University in Beijing, China with a Ph.D. in International Development Economics. According to Dr. Munyeneh, he used the Wonegizi Forest in Lofa County as his unit of analysis for his research. Developing countries must, therefore, ensure that international agreements are strongly aligned with their national development plans as well as the SDGs. Before pursuing his academic career at China’s premier university, Dr. Munyeneh served as Assistant Minister for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Dr. Munyeneh is a 2010 graduate of the University of Maryland College Park where he obtained dual masters’ in International Development and Environmental Policy.
