Ahead of this year’s Senatorial elections many are hoping that the trend changes. More and more countries like Rwanda are encouraging women participation in legislature and politics. Months after her loss, Urey says, women are unfortunately highly unrepresented in politics in Liberia. More women in the legislature means that more women will be making decisions that impact our future. Ndubusi Nwadubike from the Liberia National Bar Association has been receiving mixed reactions among many legal practitioners in the country. Johnson contends that it is the Supreme Court that has the power to expel lawyers and not the LNBA. “As an integrity institution, the LNBA took the decision to safeguard its integrity as Nwadubike crossed the redline,” said Cllr. After the expulsion of Nwabudike, what the LNBA leadership needs to do is to communicate with the Supreme Court about its decision, he added.
