The All Progressives Congress has distanced itself from a list making the rounds that detailed purported zoning of offices announced by the Chairman of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni. This is according to a disclaimer signed on Wednesday by the APC’s Director-General, Press and Media Affairs, Mamman Mohammed. The disclaimer read in part, “The attention of the Governor of Yobe State and Chairman APC Caretaker Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, Mai Mala Buni, has been drawn to media publications with purported zoning of offices allegedly announced by him. “He has in clear and unambiguous terms denied the said list, saying, it is false, baseless, unfounded, misleading and has nothing to do with him.”Buni said the APC has not taken any decision at any fora on anything relating to the zoning of offices. He said, “The publication is just a figment of the author’s imagination that has nothing to do with the Chairman and the party.

It’s a solid Democratic district - Joe Biden carried it by nearly 24 points in 2020 - but on Tuesday, Cooper announced he was retiring from Congress. The plan is one of the clearest, and most brazen, efforts to dismantle a Democratic district to benefit Republicans. Republicans have created new maps that split Democratic voters into three heavily GOP districts where they're in the minority. These new lines would dismantle a Democratic district, helping Republicans preserve their majority in the state. About a quarter of the eligible voting population in the fifth congressional district is Black.

We have no way of knowing whether or not Mr Novak Djokovic, Serbia’s global tennis talisman would have won the Australian Open this year. He has made an unforced error not on the tennis court but outside it. He has won the Australian Open nine times, French open twice, Wimbledon six times and US open three times bringing his total grand slam haul to 20. Djokovic’s iconoclastic behaviour on the COVID-19 pandemic is inexplicable, though not excusable. If Australian society won, Djokovic lost.
