Suu Kyi has been detained since the army ousted her elected government in February 2021 and has not been seen or allowed to speak in public since then. He said in his video that the money included $100,000 provided to Suu Kyi in 2018 for a charitable foundation named after her mother and also gave Suu Kyi $450,000 in payments from 2019 to 2020 for purposes he did not specify. Overall, Suu Kyi has been charged with 12 counts of corruption.

Sweden could impose fresh measures vs possible Covid wave
STOCKHOLM: A month after Sweden announced that Covid-19 was no longer considered dangerous and scrapped health measures to fight it, the northern European country's public health agency said on Monday it was prepared to reintroduce restrictions if another coronavirus wave struck the country. During a Swedish television interview, health official Sara Byfors offered three possible scenarios, the first being a new coronavirus strain could invade one's immune system and cause severe illness. In this scenario, she said, being vaccinated is not enough, and "we would need to introduce measures, such as limiting social contact and restricting public gatherings, and recommend working from home." Though this particular scenario is unlikely, it comes as there are signs that Covid-19 infections are spreading anew. Twenty-five people on average were hospitalized for Covid-19 every day in Sweden, the agency said, adding that this figure could double by mid-May.

Some 1900 kindergartens and schools to resume classes on Tue as HK sees 283 Covid cases
Hong Kong reported 283 new Covid-19 cases on Monday, as some 1,900 kindergartens and secondary schools will resume face-to-face classes on Tuesday. Among the new cases, 120 were confirmed through PCR tests, and 163 were positive rapid antigen test results reported by citizens. Au said according to the Education Bureau, 1,500 kindergartens and 400 secondary schools will resume face-to-face classes on Tuesday, believed to have more positive cases detected. Hospital Authority's chief manager for integrated clinical services Larry Lee Lap-yip reported five related deaths, pushing the death tally to 9,105. MANILA, Philippines — The 4G technology can locate the source of a vote, a government official on Monday assured, allaying fears that a vote’s source may be “untraceable.”The Commission on Elections (Comelec) earlier gave Smartmatic the award for the transmission of votes from 3G to 4G as it would be faster. “We know that 4G is much faster as compared to 3G. “And with 4G, we can confidently say that yes, it can still be determined kasi meron naman pong, let’s say may IP (internet protocol) address ‘yung source. (And with 4G, we can confidently say that yes, it can still be determined because there is an IP address for the source. “With all the tests being done by the technology provider, as witnessed by Comelec, wala naman pong (there is no) serious impediment with the shift from the 3G to 4G technology,” he said.
