MANILA, Philippines — As Vice President Leni Robredo’s campaign kicks into high gear, her newly minted campaign manager, former Sen. Bam Aquino, called on her supporters to broaden their ranks, “starting from your own homes,” in a bid to sway undecided and swing voters. In his very first campaign bulletin issued on Sunday, Aquino urged Robredo’s volunteers—dubbing themselves the “Kakampinks,” in reference to her campaign colors—to help launch a “true people’s campaign” that’s based not on research but on heeding the genuine concerns of the Filipino masses. ADVERTISEMENTAquino appears eager to build on their momentum since Thursday when Robredo finally declared herself a presidential candidate for the 2022 elections. “We saw that when we make a stand, other people will also stand behind us,” he said. Meanwhile, he refrained supporters not to engage in petty wars and to listen to all criticisms about Robredo’s campaign.

In their motion, prosecutors argued that the initial evaluation showed Alissa is aware of his legal predicament. “Defendant indicates an understanding of his charges, the potential sentence, the roles of the judge, prosecutor, and defense attorney,” the prosecution motion said. In objecting to the prosecution request, defense attorneys said Alissa mistakenly believes he could be executed if found guilty. “The death penalty is not a potential sentence in this case, and the report reflects his (Alissa’s) fixation on that as a sentence,” the defense motion said. Under Colorado law, a judge is required to conduct a competency hearing before ruling on whether a defendant is mentally fit to stand trial.

Kudos to our national and Zamboanga Coach Allen Diaz and our national head coach Tony Agustin for taking good care of these kids. And to the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) for making us compete in the Arabian Gulf and keeping us on track. We deserve this support because every time our kids compete in the world, they always bring home medals these days. By the way, where's our dependable and former national coach Ramil de Jesus who has won UAAP titles one after another?
