A common artificial sweetener has been linked to an increased risk of heart attacks and strokes, according to a new study from Cleveland Clinic. Those who consumed the artificial sweetener were found to have more than 1,000 times the erythritol level of those who consumed sugar. "Based on the current data, it looks like it’s safer to drink a glucose-sweetened drink rather than an erythritol-sweetened drink," Hazen said. For those who do want to sweeten a food or drink , Hazen would recommend — based on the data — using honey or fruit instead of artificial sweetener.

via Associated PressWe’ve already written at HuffPost UK about how much Olympians get paid for scoring a medal. We’ve even shared the touching reason why 2024 athletes competing in Stade de France ring that bronze bell after getting the gold. But it doesn’t answer the most salient question of the Games ― in such a leotard and short shorts-filled environment, what happens if athletes get a wedgie mid-race/dive/vault/etc? That’s only gymnastics, of course; but in 2004, former Olympic swimmer Amanda Beard told FHM that her sport had its secrets too. Advertisement“I wear a two-piece a lot to train in and I wedge it right up my butt,” she revealed at the time.

If you are a business owner who offers your customers a website, platform, portal, or app, this article is a good checklist for how those customers might be evaluating your privacy commitments. Among other things, the WaPo piece suggests the following:Checking the California-mandated disclosures for information about whether the company sells personal data;Reading privacy disclosures mandated by the owners of the app store; andChecking the overall tone of the privacy policy. With the proliferation of privacy laws at the state level and privacy litigation across the country, you will be doing yourself a favor legally as well as from a customer relations standpoint. Companies have every incentive to gobble personal information from your phone or nag you to pay for a crummy app. It's unfair, but you're mostly on your own to preserve your privacy, security and safety from scams.

Yesterday, Trump made up a story about an emergency helicopter landing that never happened. Here’s the WP bragging back in 2008 how their fact check of Hillary Clinton’s recounting her plane in Bosnia landing under sniper fire became a defining moment in the 2008 campaign. "I was on the plane with then First Lady Hillary Clinton for the trip from Germany into Bosnia in 1996. From Tuzla, Hillary flew to two outposts in Bosnia with gunships escorting her helicopter." We were in a helicopter going to a certain location together, and there was an emergency landing,” Trump told reporters gathered at his Mar-a-Lago resort www.cnn.com/...

Mr Scott's recent experiences have significantly worsened his anxiety, making routine tasks and his profession as a drag performer feel unsafe. Drag provides a sense of community and creative space for members of the LGBTQIA+ community to express themselves and engenders a sense of empowerment among individuals who share similar backgrounds and beliefs. Lawmakers in several states have drafted—and in many cases, passed—legislation to prevent minors from interacting with drag performers. Pushback on drag shows exerts a negative effect on LGBTQIA+ community members who already face interpersonal prejudice and stigma on the basis of their identity. Unique challenges faced by the LGBTQIA+ community manifest in the field of medicine as well.
