NAIROBI, Kenya — Gunmen in northern Kenya fatally shot four construction workers at a hospital site near a refugee camp and the border with Somalia where a militant group is active, police said Saturday. The hospital construction site is near Kenya’s largest refugee camp, Dadaab, and the border with Somalia where the al-Shabab militant group is based. WESTBURY, New York (AP) — David Miller bailed South Africa out of deep trouble against the Netherlands with a clutch innings to win their Twenty20 World Cup clash by four wickets on Saturday. Miller's unbeaten 59 off 51 balls, with four sixes and three boundaries, rescued South Africa from 12-4 in the fifth over. The Netherlands was going for a hat trick of wins against South Africa in World Cups, after winning their T20 in 2022 and one-day international in 2023. Miller and Stubbs put on a cautious 65 off 72 balls on a challenging pitch. Stubbs was caught in the 17th over as South Africa edged closer to the finish.

SEOUL, South Korea (AP) — North Korea flew hundreds of trash-carrying balloons to South Korea again in its third such campaign since late May, the South’s military said, just days after South Korean activists floated their own balloons to scatter propaganda leaflets in the North. In response, South Korea suspended a 2018 tension-easing agreement with North Korea. South Korean officials called the North Korean trash balloon launches and other recent provocations as “absurd, irrational” and vowed strong retaliation. North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is a third generation of his family to rule North Korea with an iron fist since 1948. Experts say North Korea’s balloon campaign is also meant to cause a divide in South Korea over its conservative government’s tough approach on North Korea.

The Middle East and North Africa Youth Conference, organised under the slogan ‘Youth and Building a Free Future’, started in Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. The participants listened to the YPJ's message from Rojava greeting the conference and the message from RAWA, the women's organisation of Afghanistan. Afterwards, a cinevision about the resistance of the peoples of the Middle East, prepared by the preparation committee, was screened, watched by the participants with great excitement. The first discussions will be on the wars and crisis in the Middle East and North Africa.
