MONROVIA – At long last, the Government of Liberia (GOL), through the Ministry of Justice, has officially received autopsy reports on the four Liberian auditors who died under mysterious circumstances one after the other in the country. “I presented the reports to the Justice Ministry this morning and they have it now. Justice Ministry is the prosecuting authority and they supposed to have a press conference to release the reports because, what we generated were evidences”. He maintained that all of the processes which led to the finalization of the autopsy reports were done in a transparent and professional manner. “The Justice Ministry and the US team have access to the reports.

Jeppoh further stated that Ponpon’s condition, prior to a surgery that was conducted by the John F. Kennedy Medical Center was unbearable. “Since the unfortunate incident took place, our son Archie Ponpon has been in near-death pains that saw him being taken to the John F. Kennedy Medical Center for emergency treatment. Following medical experts’ assessment of the injury incurred, it was advised that Archie Ponpon undergo surgery on parts of his body that were seriously affected. This life-threatening surgery was successful and Archie is recovering at the John F. Kennedy hospital with suggestion that he is taken abroad for advanced treatment,” Jeppoh averred. Jeppoh maintained that doctors at the JFK have advised that Ponpon seeks further medication and are appealing to President George Weah for extra assistance.

MONROVIA – Representative Mr. Hanson Kaizulu (District #17, Montserrado County) says the decision that led to the impeachment and removal of Justice Kabinah Ja’neh from the Supreme Court’s bench should be seen as a collective responsibility and call on government to honor the ECOWAS court ruling on the matter. “Some of us at the time taught the decision to impeach Justice Ja’neh wasn’t timely but the majority took the decision. There was no procedural error, what I think is that the substantive of the case was not enough to impeach him. Ja’neh, through his lawyer prayed the Supreme Court not to admit the verdict into the Senate’s records because the procedure used to impeach him was unconstitutional, but his request was denied. He vowed to seek redress at the ECOWAS Court.

The new project would ensure the protection of consumers’ rights through litigation against people who tend to defraud them of their money. In an interview with FrontPageAfrica he said, the launch of the advocacy group would ensure that consumers’ rights are protected. “As an advocacy group of consumers, we are against any thing that has the tendency to impede the will of consumers. MONROVIA – Just a Girl Initiatives, a local not for profit organization has launched circle 3 of its Inclusive Vocational Empowerment Program. Since Just a Girl Launched its tuition vocational empowerment program in 2017 and its official start in 2018, at least 80 girls and women have so far benefited from the program. With the 115 new beneficiaries joining the current 40 beneficiaries in the program, it brings to total 155 beneficiaries with women accounting for 90 percent. The former Press Union of Liberia President went said one of the building blocks for country’ advancement and development is for the nation to invest in human resource capacity by capacitating its citizens with marketable technical and vocational skills. Mr. Quaqua added that when technical and vocational skills acquisition becomes a priority to a nation and its citizens, the country develops faster and it brings about jobs creation and boosts the entrepreneurship sector.

Gbanga, Bong County – With support from the United States Aid International Development (USAID), the Catholic Relief Services (CRS) has embarked on the implementation of the COVID-19 response in rural Montserrado, Bong, and Margibi Counties. We are going be distributing hand washing stations at various public places. He added that one of the ways people can reduce the spread of COVID-19 is by practicing constant hands washing. As we install these hands washing stations in public places, people who will be coming to wash their hands will also apply soap and wash their hands with clean water,” he said. While handing the hands washing stations to the local authority in Bong County, Kreplah urged the county leadership to maintain the equipment by constantly providing adequate water at the various hands washing stations to enable people to wash their hands properly.

Monrovia – The ECOWAS Court of Justice has ordered the Republic of Liberia to pay Counsellor Kabineh Muhammad Ja’neh, an impeached Judge of the Supreme Court of Liberia, the sum US$200, 000 as reparation for moral prejudice suffered for the violation of his rights. Justice Ja’neh Requests US$25 Million for DamagesIn the lawsuit filed against the Republic of Liberia, Justice Ja’neh urged the ECOWAS Court to award general damages in an amount not less than US$25 million as compensation and an order directing the Republic of Liberia to restore him to his position of Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of Liberia. Most importantly, Ja’neh said that his purported impeachment, trial, conviction and removal from office and replacement violated the Liberian Constitution. But to his surprise, the Chief Justice denied his application and instead, proceeded to preside over the applicant’s impeachment trial. It clearly states that our country has been a lawless country,” he said, but at the same time celebrating the ruling in favor Justice Ja’neh.

MONROVIA – The Liberia Council of Churches (LCC), through its President, Bishop Kortu K. Brown, has called for the postponement of the controversial December 8, 2020 National Referendum. Authorities of the National Elections Commission (NEC) have set aside December 8 for the conduct of the senatorial elections across Liberia, a national referendum, and two separate by-elections in Montserrado and Sinoe counties respectively. This, he added, remains a major reason for the scheduled National Referendum to be reversed. There have been mounting concerns over the holding of a National Referendum along with the senatorial elections and two separate by-elections in Liberia. They questioned the rationale behind the National Referendum with just three years into the administration of President Weah.

Monrovia – Aggrieved former workers of the National Port Authority (NPA) and American Life Insurance Company (ALICO) pensioned employees are now demanding refund benefits from the NPA’s management. According to the spokesman of the aggrieved former employees, Elijah Kiah, the port management currently owes them US$5.3 million which was deducted from their salary over a 10-year period. However, the Port management has failed to remit their benefits. Displaying documentary evidence of their situation, the chairman of the group Josiah Clement clarified that it is not the government that owes them, rather the Port Management. Mr. Kiah is of the conviction that with President George Weah’s intervention they will get their money soon.
