The launch of the James Webb Space Telescope, which astronomers hope will herald a new era of discovery, was again pushed back Tuesday until at least Christmas Day due to “adverse weather conditions” at the launch site in French Guiana, NASA said. The launch window on Saturday is from 1220-1252 GMT, the US space agency said. “The Ariane 5 launch vehicle and Webb are in stable and safe conditions in the Final Assembly Building.”It was the third time that the Webb telescope launch has been delayed, each time due to minor issues. “Thank you to the teams… working overtime to ensure Webb’s safe launch! The Webb telescope follows in the footsteps of the legendary Hubble, but will orbit the Sun, rather than the Earth.

Amid the bedlam on the Niger Bridge are miscreants of all sorts preying on weary travellers, especially at night. Going back to memory, the need to build a Second Niger Bridge was on the drawing board for a long time. Despite all these promises and assurances, the Second Niger Bridge is merely in the making. From the foregoing, it is obvious that different administrations paid lip service to the Second Niger Bridge. But sadly enough, building something as crucial as a Second Niger Bridge is sacrificed on the altar of our unedifying politics.

Some optimistic experts insist that oil prices may jump to $380 per barrel given global energy development ahead of 2050. Group General Manager for National Petroleum Investment Management Services, Bala Wunti, had earlier noted that the effect of investment decisions being made now would be felt in about five years. Under this scenario oil price was expected at $197 per barrel, with inflation accounting for most of the higher price. According to the report, in the worst case, oil prices would exceed $100 in 2050, hovering at $128 per barrel. “It is obvious that the forecasts made at the beginning of the pandemic emphasizing that the world had already passed the peak of oil consumption in 2019, proved to be wrong.
