A 66-year-old man died after jumping on the rail track at Tai Wo station around 10am on Saturday when the train was approaching the platform. MTR said a Sheung Shui-bound East Rail Line train was approaching the platform at Tai Wo station around 10.30am on Saturday when the man jumped onto the rail track. The train services between Sheung Shui and Tai Po Market stations were suspended. Passengers had to wait eight minutes for a train traveling between Tai Po Market and Hung Hom stations and 15 minutes for one traveling between Sheung Shui and Fanling station. The incident was taken care of by about 11.45am, and the East Rail Line train services gradually resumed.

And if a person shifts from using public transport, it means shorter queues and less crowding on our inadequate public transport services. Many more kilometers of bike lanes need to be established in order to create a substantial and well-connected network. It will also enable at least 30 kilometers of protected bike lanes to be built in each of the 130 cities outside of Metro Manila. It will fund 10,000 public bike racks and bike parking facilities for distribution all over the country. More cycling is what we need in all our cities.

A female boar was on Thursday night spotted stuck in a fence railing in Fortress Hill, bleeding and struggling. Its neck was stuck between the railings of a barrier fence, and although it kept struggling, it failed to free itself. The boar suspectedly got frightened, ran head-on into the fence, and became stuck as it was roaming the slope looking for food. Firefighters then widened with tools the gap where the boar got stuck and freed it. Later, the boar was sent to Kadoorie Farm and Botanic Garden in Tai Po for further examination and treatment.

Rappler founder and Nobel Peace Prize winner Maria Ressa. MANILA, Philippines — The Department of Health (DOH) reported Friday that 142 more patients died of COVID-19 complications. The additional fatalities brought the total to 48,017 patients, who represent 1.70 percent of all the 2.83 million confirmed COVID-19 cases in the country. ADVERTISEMENTThe DOH has so far recorded over 4,800 deaths due to COVID-19 this November. However, the health agency earlier explained that deaths reported in its daily case bulletin include fatalities from the previous months.
