PUNCH petitions IGP, protests attack on reporter, SFU holds on to phone, ID card
The PUNCH Editor, Ademola Oni, in the petition to the IGP on Thursday, condemned the “unwarranted, provocative, uncivilised, crude and barbaric attack” on the reporter. PUNCH Metro had reported that Ufoh went to the SFU to speak with some prospective tenants allegedly defrauded by a developer, Adewale Tunde. Ufoh was interviewing the victims in front of the station when he was approached by the policemen, who accused him of filming the SFU building. Despite the intervention of the acting PUNCH Metro Head, Samson Folarin, who spoke to one of the officers on the phone, the policemen refused to budge. One of the officers said the SFU Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Zango, approved of the attack on the reporter.

Sexual harassment in our neighbourhoods
Sexual harassment in universities and other higher education institutions is not limited to Nigeria and her neighbours. This attribute makes sexual harassment in the workplace a much talked about organisational vice outside inherent job factors. Hence now, the germane questions are: why is sexual harassment still allowed to flourish in our workplaces and universities? For example, rather surprisingly, there is no provision in the Nigerian Labour Act 2004 that prohibits sexual harassment or any other kind of harassment during employment. The Senate at its plenary session of Tuesday, 7 July 2020 passed the Sexual Harassment Bill, 2020 (SB 77) which seeks to prevent, prohibit and redress the sexual harassment of students in tertiary educational institutions.

The efforts of the PSC have resulted in the publication of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Ports Agencies and recently publication of the Nigerian Port Process Manual (NPPM). Both documents have far reaching implications for operations in Nigerian Ports and Terminals. Overall, from 2011 to 2021, a total of 1130 incidents have been reported by Ship captains calling on Nigerian ports. Transnational Corporation of Nigeria (Transcorp) traded 11.387 million shares valued at N11.254 million, while Sovereign Trust Insurance transacted 9.999 million shares worth N2.780 million.
